Hours & Getting Here

Stella Ranelagh can be found on the lower ground floor of The Devlin Hotel at 117-119 Ranelagh Road, Dublin 6.

Stella Ranelagh is accessible by elevator and stairs from inside the lobby of the hotel.

Our opening hours change daily, depending on the time of the first screening. Our doors open 30 minutes prior to each day’s first screening. Please see our Films page for screening times.

Our Box Office is open to answer phone & email queries from Monday to Friday 14:00-18:00. The Box Office can be reached by phone on 01 496 7014 and by email at ranelagh@stellacinemas.ie.

Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot facilitate phone bookings.

Tickets can also be booked at any time online or in-person in the cinema during our regular opening hours.

There is no dedicated parking at Stella Ranelagh but there is limited, pay and display, on-street parking in the Ranelagh area. Please note that as this parking is not operated by Stella we do not have control over fees or times, so we recommend confirming these prior to parking.

By Bike or On Foot
Stella Ranelagh is only a short walk or cycle from city centre. Estimated walking time from St. Stephen’s Green is 25 minutes and by bike is 10 minutes. The closest Dublin Bike station to Stella Ranelagh is located at Charlemont Place.

By Bus
There are several bus stops located close by. The following routes have stops close to Stella Ranelagh: 11, S2, 44, 44D
We recommend using Transport for Ireland’s Journey Planner if you’re not sure of the best route for you.

By Luas
The Ranelagh & Beechwood stops, located on the green line, are our nearest LUAS stops. Estimated walk time from the Ranelagh stop to Stella Ranelagh is 6 minutes and from the Beechwood stop is 5 minutes.
We recommend visiting The Luas website to view timetables and check for any travel updates that might affect your journey.

By Car
There is no dedicated parking at Stella Ranelagh but there is limited, pay and display, on-street parking in the Ranelagh area. Please note that as this parking is not operated by Stella we do not have control over fees or times, so we recommend confirming these prior to parking.

Yes! We are more than happy to assist you with booking.

Our Box Office is open to answer phone & email queries Monday to Friday 14:00-18:00. They can be reached by phone on 01 496 7014 and by email at ranelagh@stellacinemas.ie.
Outside of these hours, please send us an email and a member of our team will be in touch to assist soon.

Please note that we cannot currently take phone bookings for Stella Ranelagh.

Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate phone bookings for Stella Ranelagh. However, we are always happy to assist and advise by email at ranelagh@stellacinemas.ie.

Yes! We are more than happy to sell tickets at the door, but we do advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment as our screenings can sometimes be fully booked.

Tickets can be purchased in-person at the Cinema Bar during our opening hours or at any time online.

Only when a ticket is for a future dated screening can adjustments be made. Requests for refunds or exchanges must be submitted in writing via email to ranelagh@stellacinemas.ie. The request must be submitted no later than two hours before the screening is due to begin.

The Stella Cinema is not responsible for customers selecting the wrong ticket type, date or time, or if the ticket holder is under age for a specific performance.

If a customer is found to be in possession of invalid tickets, they will be directed to our refreshments bar in our foyer where a member of the management team will amend their booking, if possible. If the booking can not be amended for the booked screening a refund or exchange will not be issued. Please note, it is not possible to change tickets for a screening that has already taken place as these tickets are classified as expired.

The same seat cannot be guaranteed. Booking fees will not be refunded. Please note that refunded transactions will take 5-7 working days to return to a customer’s account.

Seats, Prices, & Ticket Types

Our tickets are priced per person and do not vary by seat type. We offer Standard/Adult Tickets, Child Tickets (for those aged 14 and under), and Senior tickets (for those aged 65 and older).

Standard/Adult
– Standard: €19.00
– Event: €25.00

Child (Under 14s) *Only available for applicable films
– Matinee: €10.00
– Evening: €12.00

Senior (65+)
– Matinee: €15.00
– Evening: €15.00
– Event: €21.00

We have two different seat types: Armchairs & Couches.

Couch (Seats 2 People): Our couches are perfect for couples. Our couches are priced for two guests (€42.00 for adults & €30.00 for Seniors (65+)). There are a limited number of couch seats so they may not be available for your chosen screening.

Armchair (Seats 1 Person): Bespoke mid-century armchairs complete with side tables. Most of our seats are Armchairs, so selecting this option will give more availability. price. Please note: these restricted view seats are not available for every screening.

Yes, and the great thing about coming to see a movie in the Stella is that you can choose exactly where you would like to sit when booking.

When purchasing tickets online, available seating is highlighted in colour while unavailable seats are blacked out.

Admission Policies

IFCO certification rules also apply for all screenings and admission will not be granted to anyone who does not meet the age certification requirement for a film, even in the case that they hold a ticket for said film.

Tickets will not be refunded if a ticket holder is found not to meet the film age requirement for a given screening.

Guidelines for each certification are outlined below. For further information on the classifications or for details on the classification for a particular title, please visit ifco.ie.

G: A film classified as ‘General’ should be suitable for children of a school going age.

PG: Generally, a film classified as ‘PG’ will be suitable for children aged eight and over.

12A: Films classified 12A have been deemed appropriate for viewers of twelve and over. However, they can also be seen by younger children – provided they are accompanied by an adult who has deemed the film appropriate viewing for that child.

15A: Films classified 15A have been deemed appropriate for viewers of fifteen and over. However, they can also be seen by younger children – provided they are accompanied by an adult who has deemed the film appropriate viewing for that child.

16: Films classified in this category are suitable for persons of sixteen or over. Under law, those under sixteen will not be admitted to cinemas.

18: Films classified in this category are suitable for persons of eighteen or over. Under law, those under eighteen will not be admitted to cinemas.

Those under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 or over) at all times while visiting the cinema.

Those under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 or over) when attending a screening beginning after 17:00.

If accompanying a party of children under the age of 12, a minimum requirement of 1 adult (aged 18 or over) per every 10 children will apply to ensure adequate supervision.

Yes, we welcome babies for titles which are rated G, PG, 12A, and 15A. But, we kindly ask that you keep other guest in mind. If your little one becomes restless, we ask you step outside for a moment until they have calmed down.

While, typically, little ones under two years old are admitted for free, if your child prefers the independence of their own seat, you’ll be asked to buy a Child Ticket.

Films & Schedule

We understand that a visit to Stella can be a big night out or a special occasion, and you want to plan in advance. We always list our films and screening times online as soon as they are confirmed. We don’t have a set date or time these are listed, but we typically have a full schedule about two weeks in advance.

On the other hand, if we expect a film to be very popular or highly anticipated, we may list screenings several weeks before release.

We would advise keeping an eye on our website, social media pages, or newsletters for any updates or announcements about our upcoming schedule.

If you are interested in making a larger group booking (15+ guests), please email us at ranelagh@stellacinemas.ie. If you are interested in hiring the cinema for a private event, please email events@thedevlin.ie.

Food & Drink

At The Stella Ranelagh, we serve chilled cocktails, soft drinks, delicious hot food and confectionery. Food and drink can be enjoyed in the cinema while watching your film or at one of our luxurious on-site bars and restaurants.

Cinema Bar: When you order snacks and drinks from the bar you can bring them directly to your seat to enjoy during the film. If you order hot food there’s no need to wait until your meal is ready, all hot food will be dropped directly to your seat once the film has begun.

Americana Bar: The Americana serves an impressive menu of original, handcrafted cocktails made by a team of expert bartenders. The food menu is designed to perfectly compliment the drinks offering, with a selection of delicious sharing boards and Italian tapas-style dishes on offer. Layla’s: Layla’s is a rooftop restaurant & bar, sitting at the top of The Devlin Dublin. Layla’s offers unbeatable views of the Dublin Mountains and the Ranelagh rooftops from its glass surround windows and rooftop terrace. Layla’s serves up a delectable, Italian inspired menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with brunch every weekend and bank holiday Monday. To see menus or book a table, please visit their site here.

We deliver items from our hot food menu as well as desserts down to your seat during the film, so you can just sit back and relax.

Other items such as popcorn, sweets, or drinks will be given to you at the bar to bring in with you to enjoy while waiting for any delivery items you’ve ordered.

If you do plan on visiting the Foyer Bar on your way into the screening, we advise that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the advertised start time.

While we don’t take orders inside the auditorium, our Foyer Bar is open throughout the film for most screenings, so if you’re feeling thirsty or peckish during the show, feel free to pop out and visit us!

Please note that for the last show of the evening, our Foyer Bar closes one hour after the film commences.

Accessibility

Yes, Stella Ranelagh is accessible by lift to the lower ground floor of the Devlin Hotel, where the cinema is located.

Stella Ranelagh is wheelchair accessible with lift access to the lower ground floor of the Devlin Hotel, where the cinema is located. There are accessible toilet facilities also located on this level. We also have designated wheelchair-accessible seats in our auditorium located at the back row of the cinema.

You can book any seats in our auditorium and we will reallocate you to our accessible seating, just let us know in advance to ensure availability. For queries about booking or availability of accessible seating, please contact our Box Office.

We have designated wheelchair accessible seats in our auditorium located at the back row of the cinema. You can book any seats in our auditorium and we will reallocate you to our accessible seating, just let us know in advance to ensure availability. Yes, we offer complimentary Carer’s Tickets for those in possession of a Carers Association of Ireland membership card while accompanying a ticket holder they are caring for.

Gift Cards

Yes! As part of the PressUp Group, we offer gift cards which can be redeemed across all the group’s venues.

PressUp Gift Cards allow you to choose your own experience from over 65 restaurants, bars, hotels, as well as, of course, The Stella Cinema.

Gift Cards are available for purchase online here or at reception of The Devlin Hotel, where Stella Ranelagh is located.

Gift Cards can be purchased for a monetary value of your choosing and then redeemed against any purchases made in Stella Ranelagh, Layla’s, Americana, or The Devlin, as well as any other venue part of the PressUp Group.

This is a great option if you would like to gift the Stella experience while giving the recipient the freedom to choose when they would like to visit.

Gift cards can be used to book online, over the phone, or in-person.

To book online using a gift card, proceed through the online booking process as normal. After selecting your seats & choosing any pre-ordered items, you will be brought to a page asking for your contact details; below this there is a box for you to enter the gift card number (located underneath the scan code). If your gift card does not have sufficient balance to cover the purchase, you will then be taken to a card payment portal for the remaining due.

To book over the phone, please contact our Box Office, which is open from Monday to Friday 2PM-6PM. The Box Office can be reached on 01 496 7014.

To book in-person, visit our Foyer Bar any time during our opening hours. Please note that not all screenings have walk-in availability and we always recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Our gift cards can be used to book tickets as well as for food, beverage, and snacks. They can also be used in The Devlin Hotel, Layla’s & Americana.

Our gift cards are valid for 5 years from the date of purchase.
